Story Overview
After a fortuitous meeting with a healer, Zenos, who was born into poverty in the slums and has never had opportunities in life, resolves to create his own by learning the therapeutic arts on his own. Zenos is thrilled when an adventurous group lead by a man named Aston invites him, but his friends treat him like trash after that. The group dismisses Zenos as useless and expels him in spite of his intense attempts to enhance his abilities. Lacking resources and choices, Zenos establishes an illicit clinic and turns to shadow healing. The city's underworld rapidly learns of Zenos's prowess in healing, and as his reputation among the outcasts of society rises, word of his admiration ends up in the wrong hands.
